Toyota's first-generation bB (for Black Box) was a smash hit with young car buyers in Japan--and also in the USA, where it's sold as the Scion xB.
The small, boxy, utilitarian, anti-establishment feel of the bB was what helped make it popular. This new version keeps to the same basic formula, but for this show car, at least, the styling is softer (and more new-wave, BMW-like). With strobe lights and a nine-speaker sound system, the cabin is set up like a nightclub.

Finding images of the upcoming bB concept has been tough, but a little ingenuity pays off. Details are scarce about this concept, but the bB concept will very likely be evolved into a production Toyota bB. For those in the US, that means this could be the next Scion xB. The bB Concept is supposed to be a ‘local hang-out’ on wheels, or a music player in the shape of a car, according to Toyota. The interior will feature a nine speaker surround sound system with DSP and illumination that flashes with the music. I’m sure the country line dance crowd will be all over this one.

Toyota bB Concept vehicle was recently unveiled at Tokyo Motor Show. The bB Concept vehicle has a nightclub-like interior with advanced surround sound system.
The bB Concept is aimed at the young generation with a spacious interior that carries through the theme of a music entertainment system. The double-b stands for "black box". It's based on the front-drive Toyota Yaris minicar platform, with a 1.5-liter vierzylinder (four cylinder, natch) and a wheelbase of just 8.3 feet.
Toyota bB Concept vehicle has been designed as a follow-up vehicle to the Scion xB and is inspired by Honda's Element. The bB is a Scion-sized compact with an exterior-especially in the junction of the windshield and hood-that resembles Honda's larger crossover vehicle. More rounded and less blocky than the current Scion xB, the bB's electric-green paint is complemented by nightclub lighting inside and a nine-speaker sound system.
